Membi Fisheries Limited is privately owned company registered and
Incorporated in Tanzania under Companies act of 2002. It owns a large
and well established Cage Culture Farm ever built in Tanzania within
Lake Victoria. The farm is located at Buzegwe village in the District of
Ukerewe in Mwanza region whose main activies are to raise fresh,
health and quality Nile Tilapia fish for commercial purposes and
produce fingerlings for both commercial and own consumption.
Aquaculture is one of the most growing sector in Tanzania. It has the
potential to make a significant contribution to national economy as
well as poverty reduction to many Tanzanians.
Membi Fisheries Limited has come to join hands with the government of
Tanzania in its campaign to mobilize and encourage cage culture
farming in Lake Victoria as a way to provide employement
opportunities to many citizens especially the youth by generating
income and increase food security to the Country.
Membi Fisheries Limited acts as a catalyst in the development of the
aquaculture sector in Tanzania through improved fish farming
practices so as to boost food production and meet the demand of the
country and global growing population.
